The following instructions detail how to set up a shipping station in the system. This article is divided between 2 sections: Browser Settings and Merchant Install

Browser Settings

NOTE: Our preferred browsers are Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, but Mozilla Firefox is supported as well. Internet Explorer is not supported.

Recommended settings

We recommend the following settings on all browsers but have only provided instructions for how to configure within Edge, as that is currently our most preferred browser.

Pop-ups

Typically, we recommend the pop-up blocker is turned off in your browser for the ShipStore site, otherwise you may not get all necessary shipping documents when you request a label from the system. Here are the instructions for how to disable this in Edge:

  1. Open the settings of your browser (typically the 3 dots/dashes on the top-right of your window)
  2. Click on the "Cookie and site permissions” section, and scroll down to “Site Permissions”
  3. Under "All permissions", Click the option for “Pop-ups and redirects”
  4. Click the “ADD” button under the “Allow” section.
  5. Enter the ShipStore URL and click “ADD”. Under the “Passwords and forms” section, click on “Autofill             settings” and then disable it.

Caching

For higher volume customers, we recommend disabling caching for addresses to ensure the browser doesn't try to save a copy of every address ever used. Here are the instructions for how to disable this in Edge:

  1. Open the settings of your browser (typically the 3 dots/dashes on the top-right of your window)
  2. Click on the "Profiles” section, and scroll down to “Personal info”
  3. Disable both options at the top of this page

Bookmarks

If setting up a station that will access ShipStore often, we recommend adding a bookmark to the SS portal on the desktop. Here are the instructions for how to set this up in Edge:

  1. Open the settings of your browser (typically the 3 dots/dashes on the top-right of your window), then click the Favorites option
  2. On the Favorites pop-up, click the 3 dots, then Show favorites bar -> Always
  3. Once the bar displays, go back to your ShipStore page and click and drag the icon on the left side of the URL bar into the favorites bar.

Home page

If the stations only purpose is going to be shipping, then the below steps are good practice for user access:

  1. Open the settings of your browser (typically the 3 dots/dashes on the top-right of your window)
  2. Under the “Appearance” section, scroll down to the Home button section
  3. Enable the option, and click the "Set button URL" button.
  4. Enter the SHIPSTORE website URL and then click “Save”.

Once finished configuring the browser settings you are ready to login and use the ShipStore portal.

Merchant Setup

To install the Merchant app, go to the following link to download the installer:

In order to set up the Merchant app so the station automatically generates the necessary shipping documents on every transaction, you have 2 options: Configure through Merchant or Configuring through the Portal. Follow one of the above links to step through the configuration process.
