Summary: When a batch is stopped partway through, only some labels print. Add a tracking status column to your report and run Update Tracking Status to see which shipments shipped and which still need a label.

Problem

You stopped a batch while it was processing, or started a new batch to get labels out for the day. Only some of the labels printed. The batch screen does not show which shipments got a label, so you cannot tell which orders to reprint.

Shipments that got a label but never shipped show this tracking status (UPS wording shown; other carriers say it a little differently):

Shipper created a label, UPS has not received the package yet

Cause

Shipstore does not mark each shipment in a batch as printed or not printed. Instead, it reads the tracking status (what the carrier says has happened to the package so far). When you add a tracking status column to a report, that column stays blank until the tracking update runs.

How to check: if your tracking status column is blank for the whole batch, the tracking update has not run yet.

Fix

  1. Open the report you use to review the batch and add a tracking status column.
  2. Go to Ship > Utilities and click Update Tracking Status.
  3. A message pops up. Close it and wait. The update keeps running in the background. Do not click the button again.
  4. Wait about 30 minutes.
  5. Open the report and look at the tracking status for each shipment in the batch.
  6. Reprint and ship only the shipments that still show "Shipper created a label, UPS has not received the package yet." Any shipment showing a pickup or movement status already shipped. Do not reprint those.
  7. If the tracking status column is still blank after 30 minutes, email support@shipstoresoftware.com and ask us to check that tracking updates are turned on for your account. Include your company name and the batch number.

What you should see

Every shipment in the batch shows a tracking status. Shipments that shipped show a pickup or movement status. After you reprint and ship the rest, they change to a normal status on the next update.
