Summary: A batch import does not keep the row order of your file. To keep labels in your sequence, add a dash and a 5-digit sequence number to each order number, for example ORDER-00001, ORDER-00002, ORDER-00003 (ORDER stands for your order number).

Problem

You sort your batch import file in the order the labels must print. After the import, the shipments show in a different order.

Cause

The batch does not use the row order of your file. A fixed-width sequence number in the order number keeps the shipments in the order you want.

Fix

  1. In your import file, change each order number to the base number, a dash, and a 5-digit sequence number (00001, 00002, and so on) in the order the labels must print.
  2. Import the batch and process it.
  3. If you cannot change the order numbers this way, email support@shipstore.com to discuss other options.

What you should see

The batch lists and prints the shipments in the order of the sequence numbers.
