Summary: A new Address Book entry will not save, and a bulk import will not load, when the Address Book Code is missing. Enter an Address Book Code (top-left of the address window) for every entry; that code is what you type on the Ship page to pull the address. For bulk loads, use the correct import template with the Code column filled.

Problem

Adding a new Address Book entry returns an error and will not save, or a bulk address upload fails and loads nothing.

Cause

The Address Book Code is required. On a manual entry, leaving it blank stops the save. On a bulk import, a file that is not in the correct template (or is missing the Code column) fails to load. The code is the key you type on the Ship page to auto-fill the stored address.

Fix

  1. For a manual entry, open the Address Book and start a new entry, then fill the standard fields such as address, phone, and email.
  2. Enter an Address Book Code in the field at the top-left of the address window (for example, a short store or location code). This is required for the entry to save.
  3. Save the entry. On the Ship page, type that code into the Address Book Code field and press Enter to pull the stored address.
  4. For a bulk load, use the correct Address Book import template, not a random file.
  5. Fill every field for each row, including the Code column, then import the file.

What you should see

A manual entry saves once the code is filled, typing the code on the Ship page loads the address, and a bulk import in the correct template loads all rows.
