Summary: The Commercial Invoice pulls the Importer of Record (IOR) email from the Address Book entry for that importer. If the entry has no email, the field prints blank. Add the email to that entry and reprint.

Problem

You printed a Commercial Invoice (the customs form for an international shipment) and everything is correct except the Importer of Record (IOR) email is blank.

Cause

The Commercial Invoice fills the Importer of Record email from the Address Book entry used for the importer address. If that entry has no email saved, the field prints blank.

How to check: Open the Address Book entry you use for the importer and see if the email field is empty.

Fix

  1. Go to your Address Book and open the entry you use for the importer (Importer of Record) address.
  2. Add the email address to that entry and click Save.
  3. Reprint the Commercial Invoice.

What you should see

The reprinted Commercial Invoice shows the Importer of Record email. New shipments that use that importer address include the email too.
