Summary
In a multi-location setup, carrier accounts live on the parent (master) account and are then applied to each location (child) profile. A location ships on whatever account is applied to its profile, so a new location has none until you add one, and a location can ship on the wrong account if another location's account is applied to it.
Before you start
- The carrier account number(s) for the location.
- For a new UPS account: a UPS invoice from about the last 30 days (it carries the invoice control number used to register).
- Access to the account's two-factor (2FA) verification, or the person whose email is on the account so they can forward the code.
Steps
- Go to Administration > Carriers on the parent (master) account.
- Add the carrier account. For a new UPS account, enter the invoice control number from the recent invoice when asked.
- Complete the carrier's two-factor (2FA) verification. If the 2FA email goes to someone else, have them forward the code; if it cannot be reached, update it on the carrier's website first.
- Apply the account to the correct location profile, and remove any other location's account that should not be on that profile.
- Turn on the carrier services that location needs.
- Run a test shipment on the location profile.
What you should see
The test shipment prints a label billed to the intended account, and the location profile lists only the accounts that belong to it.
If something goes wrong
You cannot complete the change yourself: adding or swapping carrier accounts across locations can be done for you. Email support@shipstore.com and include your company name, the location profile, the carrier, and the account number to apply.
