This error means the USPS postage account Endicia uses does not have enough balance to buy the label's postage.

Problem

You try to print a USPS label through Endicia and no label prints. You see:

Exception getting labels for shipment
There is not enough money in the account to produce the indicium.

Endicia and Stamps.com share one login, so the balance can look funded when it is not.

Cause

The request reaches Endicia, but the postage meter on the exact Endicia account Shipstore uses is below the label cost, so Endicia will not produce the indicium (the postage mark). A common trigger is funding a different Stamps.com or Endicia account than the one Shipstore is set to use.

Fix

  1. Add funds to the Endicia postage account that Shipstore uses, then retry the shipment. No waiting period is needed after funding.
  2. Confirm the Endicia AccountID set in Shipstore matches the account you funded. In Stamps.com, go to Manage Account > Profile > Personal Contact Info and use Get Username to check the account.
  3. If it still fails right after funding, re-check the account mapping instead of assuming a sync delay. A mismatch means a different account was funded than the one Shipstore draws from.
  4. If the correct account is funded and the error stays, email support@shipstore.com to verify the stored Endicia username and password.

What you should see

After you fund the correct account, the shipment prints a USPS label with no "not enough money ... to produce the indicium" error, and the Endicia balance drops by the postage amount.
