Summary: Estes returns rates for whatever account number your profile sends. If the quote does not match your contract, the profile is set to the wrong Estes account or tariff. Correct the account number on the profile.
Problem
You ship Estes LTL (less-than-truckload freight). The rate Shipstore quotes does not match the price you expected, or Estes invoices you under a different contract than the one you were quoted. This usually happens when your company has more than one Estes tariff (a price agreement), each with its own account number.
Cause
Shipstore asks Estes for rates using the Estes account number set on the profile (the shipping setup for a location or store). If that account number is wrong, Estes sends back the rates for the wrong contract. Shipstore shows exactly what Estes returns, so a mismatch points to the account or tariff, not to Shipstore. Shipstore uses one Estes account and tariff per profile, so two tariffs need two profiles.
How to check: Compare the Estes account number on the profile with the account number for the tariff you expect to bill under. If they are different, that is the cause.
Fix
- Find out which Estes account number and tariff this location should use.
- Open the profile's Estes carrier settings and look at the account number.
- If it points at the wrong tariff, change it to the correct Estes account number and click Save.
- To use two different Estes tariffs, set up each one on its own profile instead of expecting one profile to switch between them.
- Re-rate a shipment you know the price for and compare the Shipstore quote with your contract price.
- If the price still looks wrong, find the carrier quote ID on the rate result and look it up on the Estes website. If Estes shows the same amount Shipstore showed, the rate is coming straight from Estes and the account or tariff has to be corrected with Estes.
- If it still does not match, ask your Estes representative to check the account and rate a test shipment with you.
What you should see
A re-rated shipment returns the price for the contract you expect, and the account number on the profile matches the tariff you bill under.
