Summary: FedEx returns "Account Number Mismatch" (and a rate shop can come back with no FedEx results) when the FedEx account has not been added to the Ship API project in the FedEx Developer Portal. Add it as a Shipping Account on that project, then re-rate.
Problem
A FedEx shipment or rate request returns an "Account Number Mismatch" for the FedEx account, or a rate shop returns no FedEx results while other carriers still work. Picking a FedEx service produces the mismatch.
Cause
FedEx's new API checks each shipment against the accounts enrolled in a project in the FedEx Developer Portal. If the FedEx account number is in Shipstore but was never added to the Ship API project (for example it was added only to a Rate or Track project), FedEx rejects the shipment as an account mismatch, because that account is not enrolled for shipping under the credentials Shipstore uses.
Fix
- Sign in to the FedEx Developer Portal with the FedEx developer login for the account.
- Open the Ship API project whose credentials Shipstore uses.
- Add the FedEx account number as a new Shipping Account on that project.
- If you rate shop with the account, add it to the Rate and Track projects too.
- In Shipstore, re-rate or reprocess the shipment and confirm FedEx returns services with no mismatch.
- If the account still fails, contact your FedEx representative to confirm the account is authorized for the billing type you are using.
What you should see
A FedEx rate returns services for the account with no Account Number Mismatch, the rate shop returns FedEx alongside other carriers, and a test FedEx label generates.
