Summary: FedEx Ground and FedEx Home Delivery shipments to or from one area suddenly fail while the same services work everywhere else. FedEx has paused ground service for that area. Nothing is wrong in Shipstore. Ship FedEx Express or another carrier until FedEx turns it back on.

Problem

FedEx Ground or FedEx Home Delivery shipments fail at process time for one town, ZIP, or region. Other destinations are fine, the address checks out as a good residential address, and it shipped fine before. FedEx may send back:

GROUND_HOME_DELIVERY is not supported for the destination

Cause

FedEx pauses ground service for an area during storms, hub problems, and other disruptions. While it is paused, FedEx turns down ground service for the ZIPs it covers.

In July 2026, for example, a FedEx hub problem in Middletown, Pennsylvania led FedEx to stop ground service into and out of the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area for several days. This is on the FedEx side, not your setup.

How to check: process the same order to another state. If that one goes through, the problem is the area, not your account or profile.

Fix

  1. Check the FedEx service alerts page at fedex.com for the origin or destination area.
  2. Process a test shipment to a different area, so you know the rest of your setup is fine.
  3. Ship the held orders on a FedEx Express service, or on another carrier, until FedEx restores ground service.
  4. Try FedEx Ground or FedEx Home Delivery again once the alert clears.
  5. If the alerts page shows nothing for that area and ground still fails, email support@shipstore.com with the origin ZIP, the destination ZIP, and the exact message.

What you should see

The FedEx alerts page names a disruption for that area, the same shipment goes out on FedEx Express or another carrier, and Ground and Home Delivery work again once the alert clears.
