Problem

Processing a FedEx SmartPost shipment (SmartPost Standard / Ground Economy) on a child account returns a SmartPost hub ID error. The same error appears on a direct test shipment.

Cause

FedEx SmartPost needs a hub ID that tells FedEx which SmartPost hub the shipment enters through, and that hub ID has to be set for the specific child account. When it is missing on the child account, SmartPost shipments error. This hub ID is not shown per child account in the screen today, so it is set on the back end.

Fix

  1. Confirm the service is a SmartPost / Ground Economy service (for example SmartPost Standard).
  2. Find the correct SmartPost hub for your shipping location (the hub FedEx assigned for that origin).
  3. Email support@shipstore.com and include your company name, the child account, and the SmartPost hub for your location, and ask to have the SmartPost hub ID set on that child account.
  4. After support confirms, reprocess the shipment on the child account.

What you should see

A SmartPost shipment on the child account rates and prints a label without the hub ID error.
