An LTL load finished in Shipstore may not reach the carrier when auto-pickup (auto-dispatch) is turned off for the account. Dispatch the load by hand as the immediate fix, and ask support whether auto-pickup is on for your profile.
Problem
An LTL load (for example Estes; LTL means less-than-truckload freight) was completed in Shipstore, but the carrier did not receive the dispatch or pickup request. A related symptom is an LTL error that mentions rating even though it happens while booking the load or scheduling the pickup.
Cause
Auto-pickup (auto-dispatch) is turned off for the account, so finished loads are not sent to the carrier automatically. Shipstore may turn it off for a while to work around a carrier or shipment-type problem (for example a hazmat or battery shipment issue, or an Estes pickup-scheduling problem). When the automatic Estes pickup call is failing, the error can mention rating even though it happens while booking the load.
Fix
- Confirm the load actually finished in Shipstore and note the shipment number.
- Dispatch the load to the carrier by hand so the pickup is scheduled. This is the immediate workaround.
- Email support@shipstore.com to ask whether auto-pickup is on for your profile, and, if it was turned off to work around a problem, when it will be turned back on.
- If an Estes LTL error mentions rating but other carriers rate normally, ask support to turn off the automatic Estes pickup call. You can then rate, generate the BOL (the bill of lading, the freight shipping document), and book the Estes pickup by hand until the pickup problem is fixed.
- Until auto-pickup is back on, keep dispatching affected loads by hand.
What you should see
After a manual dispatch, the carrier confirms it received the pickup request. Once auto-pickup is back on, a newly finished load goes to the carrier without a manual dispatch.
