Shipstore's UPS integration can create a return label only when the origin (ship-from) is the US or Canada. For a return whose origin is any other country, for example goods sitting in Mexico coming back to a US warehouse, create it directly with UPS, which handles the export paperwork.
Before you start
Know the origin (ship-from) country of the return.
Steps
- Confirm the origin country of the return.
- If the origin is the US or Canada, create the return in Shipstore the normal way.
- If the origin is any other country, create the return directly with UPS, using UPS WorldShip or the UPS International Returns service. Those handle the export and customs paperwork the origin country needs.
- Contact UPS to confirm the exact export forms required for that origin country.
Why Shipstore cannot do this
Shipstore's UPS integration does not currently support creating a return label with a non-US origin, except when the origin is Canada. A cross-border return also needs export and customs documents from the origin country that the standard return flow does not produce.
What you should see
A return with a US or Canadian origin creates a label in Shipstore; a return with any other foreign origin is created through UPS WorldShip or UPS International Returns.
