Question

After you run End of Day (EOD) for a carrier, can shipments processed after EOD automatically take the next business day as their ship date?

Answer

No, not out of the box. Standard EOD manifests the day's shipments; it does not roll the ship date forward. Each shipment carries two dates, a process date and a ship date, and running EOD does not change either one. A shipment keeps the ship date it was processed with.

Advancing the ship date to the next business day automatically after EOD is not a standard setting. It can be added as a customization on a Private Cloud site, where the recommended design updates the ship date and keeps the process date unchanged.

If you want this behavior

  1. Decide the scope: which carriers and profiles it applies to, whether a profile runs EOD more than once a day, and whether it should differ by service level.
  2. Email support@shipstore.com and include that scope, and ask about advancing the ship date after EOD on a Private Cloud site. This is custom development and takes development time.
  3. Test it on a test profile: process an order, run EOD, then confirm a later shipment carries the advanced ship date while the process date is unchanged.
