Summary: A rate shop compares carriers and services using the carrier account set on the profile. It does not compare several accounts for the same carrier and pick the cheapest account.

Problem

You have more than one account number with the same carrier (for example several UPS accounts with different pricing) and want Shipstore to rate shop all of them and ship on the cheapest one.

Cause

Each rate shop uses the account assigned to the profile it belongs to, and a profile holds one prepaid account per carrier. Rate shopping across different carriers and services works; rate shopping across several accounts of one carrier is not available.

Fix

  1. Keep one account per carrier on each profile and rate shop across carriers and services as usual.
  2. If some orders should ship on a different account of the same carrier, ask support to set up a second profile with that account and a business rule that switches orders to it.
