Summary: No. Turning on MFA (multi-factor authentication, also called two-factor or 2FA) for your UPS.com account does not affect Shipstore. UPS labels keep rating and printing normally.
Why it does not affect Shipstore
MFA protects the UPS.com website sign-in, where a person types a username and password and then confirms with a code or an app.
Shipstore never signs in that way. When your UPS account was added to Shipstore, you authorized it once and UPS handed back a saved authorization. Shipstore uses that saved authorization every time it rates or makes a label. It is a separate thing from the website sign-in, so a change to how people sign in at UPS.com does not change how Shipstore connects.
What to do
- Turn MFA on for your UPS.com account whenever you want. You do not need to schedule it around shipping.
- Keep the UPS.com account in good standing, and do not remove or revoke the Shipstore authorization on it. Removing that authorization is what would stop labels.
- After you turn MFA on, rate and print one UPS label as a normal check.
What you should see
A UPS shipment rates and a label prints exactly as before, and no new UPS message appears when you process.
If something goes wrong
UPS starts returning an authentication message after you turn MFA on. That is a separate problem with the saved authorization, not with MFA. Re-authorize the UPS account in Shipstore to refresh it. See the related article.
You are not sure the account is still authorized. Email support@shipstore.com with your company name and your UPS account, and ask us to check the authorization.
