The below instructions are designed to walk users through upgrading their installation of the Merchant app to the latest version. If you do not have the legacy version installed, please go to New Station Setup.

NOTE: The new version will be downloadable, but not usable until the 8/19 updates are applied. See more details here.

In order to install the new Merchant app, we must first close the existing app on the PC. To do this, find the icon for the app in your task tray (by the clock) and double click on the icon.

The main form should now display. Click the red X at the top-right of the form, then click Yes on the prompt. 

Now that the legacy version has been closed, we can run the installed for the new version. To install the new version, go to https://my.shipstoresoftware.com/DownloadMerchant and download the file when prompted. Once downloaded, run the installer. When the installer completes, you should see a new icon on your desktop and start menu for the Merchant app:

Once installed, it's recommended to run a couple of tests (i.e. reprint a label, pull the weight from the connected scale) using the new version to ensure the app and your Shipstore site are communicating properly. The new app should pull all the settings from the legacy version, but if you should see any issues, it is recommended to contact the support team to try and resolve.

Note: If you are using one of our more custom environments (i.e. private cloud or enterprise), you will need to click the Advanced Options button on the Login screen of the Merchant app and update your settings there to point to your specific version of Shipstore. If you do not know the settings to enter here, contact either your IT team or the Shipstore support team.

Once you have confirmed all functions are working as expected, you can uninstall the legacy version from the PC via the "Add and Remove Programs" window. Make sure to uninstall the version NOT using the icon above.
