Summary
If a report only gives you one row per order, you do not have to change that report. You can build a new one that includes package detail (each box on a shipment) or item detail (each product inside the shipment). You need administrative access to do it yourself.
Before you start
-
A Shipstore user account with administrative access. Without it you will not see the add button on the Reports page. If you do not have it, email support@shipstore.com and ask for the report to be built for you.
-
A list of the columns you want, and what you want to filter the report by, such as ship date or profile.
Steps
-
Go to Admin > Reports.
-
Click the + (add) button at the top of the page. The new report editor opens.
-
Give the report a name.
-
Add the columns you already want at the shipment level.
-
For each box on a shipment, add the package-level fields.
-
For each product inside the shipment, add the item-level fields.
-
Add the fields you want to filter by, such as ship date and profile.
-
Click Save Changes. The report is saved to your Reports list.
-
Run the report and look at the results before you rely on it.
Leave your old order-level report alone. Building a new one means you keep both, and you can run whichever one answers the question.
What you should see
The new report shows up in your Reports list and runs. A shipment with several boxes gives you one row per box when you add package fields. A shipment with several products gives you one row per product when you add item fields.
If something goes wrong
There is no add button on the Reports page. Your user account does not have administrative access. Email support@shipstore.com and ask for administrative access, or ask for the report to be built for you.
The row count is much higher than the number of shipments. That is expected on an item report. One row per product means a shipment with ten products gives you ten rows, and the shipment values repeat on each of those rows. Do not add up shipment totals across item rows.
A weight column shows the whole shipment weight instead of each box. See the article on a report showing the shipment total weight instead of each package weight.
