A carrier closeout (manifest) report can show fewer packages than the day's actual total when closeout was run more than once that day. Each closeout covers only the packages processed in that run, so one report shows a partial count. Reprint every closeout from that day and add the counts, and going forward run closeout once per day per pickup.
Problem
The daily carrier closeout report for the driver shows fewer packages than you actually shipped that day (for example a day with 35 packages shows 29, or a day with 10 shows 6). Reprinting the same closeout gives the same short count. The pickup record shows the right total, but that is not the report the driver needs.
Cause
Each closeout captures only the packages processed since the last closeout, then makes a report for that set. When you run closeout several times in one day, the packages are split across several reports, so no single report equals the day's total. Reprinting a closeout just repeats the values from that run, so it keeps showing the same partial count.
Fix
- Find out how many times closeout was run on the affected day.
- Reprint each closeout report from that day and add the package counts together.
- Confirm the counts add up to the day's shipped total (for example 6 plus 29 equals 35).
- Going forward, run closeout once per day per pickup so a single report carries the full count.
- If a driver needs one combined report for a day already split across several closeouts, email support@shipstore.com; a reprint alone keeps showing each original run.
What you should see
The closeout reports for the day add up to the number of packages you shipped, and a day closed out once produces a single report whose count matches the shipped total.
