Summary: A workstation that only needs its shipping label as a PDF, with no Zebra printer, no scale, and no direct auto-printing from Shipstore, does not need the Merchant App or a station set up. The label comes out as a PDF the browser downloads.

Before you start

Confirm the workstation has no scale and no thermal or label printer that Shipstore must print to directly, and that a label as a browser PDF is acceptable.

Steps

  1. For a PDF-only workstation, do not install the Merchant App and do not create a station for it in the web app.
  2. Process the shipment as usual.
  3. Take the label as the PDF the browser produces and print it to any standard printer (for example a laser printer).

What you should see

A shipment processed at the workstation produces a label PDF in the browser, with no Merchant App installed and no station set up, and the PDF prints on a standard office printer.

If something goes wrong

You later add a Zebra label printer or a scale: that workstation now does need the Merchant App and a station. You need documents to auto-print from Shipstore: that also needs the Merchant App.
