This page is used to create/modify file import templates in the system to streamline importing and batching out records.

Adding a template

To add a template, click the blue +" in the top right of the page to create a batch template. A screen will pop up where you can name your Template and select from 2 options: Integrated Mode or File Import mode.


File Import Mode

This is the option you would choose if you are importing a file (CSV, XLSX, XLS) into ShipStore for either Batch Processing or Order Entry.

To create an import template, start by toggling the File Import Mode flag to ON. Once you have done that you can start adding Fields that match the Column Names in the file you are importing.


Import Fields

This section is used to determine what fields will be in the import file, and the order they will be in.

To add a field click the blue '+' button to the right of the page next to Import fields. As you add fields to this Template these fields will not be locked in place and you will be able to reorder them at any time.

When adding/editing an import field, you will enter the name of the Column and choose which field this maps to in ShipStore. When naming these fields, the Description can be whatever you want to display, it does not need to match the Column name exact but it is a good idea to keep them the same so you know what Column is you are mapping what that field is in ShipStore.

Note:  Don't forget to SAVE (top right corner of window) after adding/editing your fields.


Integrated Mode

This is the option you would choose if you are pulling order records directly from your OMS/ERP into ShipStore for Batch Processing.

To create an integrated template, start by toggling the Integrated Mode flag to ON, and select the integration Type on the left.


Search Fields

This section is used to default search fields when selecting this template to select orders. Additional fields can be added at run time, so you only need the fields you want to default entered here.

To add a field click the blue '+' button to the right of the page next to Search Fields.

When adding/editing a search field, you will be able to enter a default value for this field in the Field Data column.

Note:  Don't forget to SAVE (top right corner of window) after adding/editing your fields.


Defaults

You can set defaults to implement when using this template for a batch ( i.e. Terms, Service, Package Weight, Dimensions, Emails etc.) if the information is not already in the file you are importing or the data is not supplied in the Integration Source.



Sample Templates

Below are some sample templates that do not require a template be created for the system to read correctly. These files have the headers named in a way the system automatically can map to the correct field in the system by using ShipStore field names. You can use the below files to format your own files for importing into ShipStore.
