A carrier is missing or shows as unavailable

Summary: If a carrier that used to work now shows as unavailable or is blocked, a business rule is disabling it. Find and remove the rule, checking both global and profile-level rules.

Problem

A carrier you used before no longer shows as an option, or a note stops you from selecting it. You want to turn the carrier back on.

Cause

A business rule was set up earlier (often at your own past request) to disable or prohibit the carrier. That rule makes the carrier show as unavailable. The rule can be global or on a specific profile, so a global-only check can miss it.

How to check: If the carrier used to work and now does not, look for a business rule that disables it.

Fix

  1. Go to Admin > Business Rules and check the global rules for one that disables or prohibits the carrier.
  2. If you do not find it there, check the profile-level business rules on the profiles you use (the rule can be profile-scoped).
  3. Remove or disable that rule.
  4. Re-test carrier selection on a new shipment.
  5. If you cannot find the rule, email support@shipstore.com and include your company name and the carrier, and we can check the ticket history for the earlier request that added it.

What you should see

The carrier shows up and can be selected on a new shipment, and no note blocks it.
