Use the carriers tab to connect your carrier accounts to the system for rating, shipping, and tracking. Carriers must be added here (globally) before they can be added to specific profiles.

Adding Carriers
To add a carrier, click the "+" in the top right corner. A carrier registration window will pop up.
Select the carrier you'd like to add from the drop down. Each carrier may have different requirements that you must enter in order to add it. The forms will walk you through the process and tell you what information you need. See our carrier registration guides for help with setting up the more difficult carriers.

Click the arrow to progress through the carrier registration forms. When you have clicked through the last one, if you have entered the information correctly, the new carrier will be added to the list.
Editing a carrier
Any carrier added can be modified if any settings ever need to change (i.e. change of a password for the account). To edit the carrier record, click the blue Edit button on the right of the record.
Enabling Automatic Tracking Updates
To enable automatic updates for tracking statuses, you have 3 options: API, EDI or Web Hook.
API
API is supported for most major carriers, and is the desired route for shippers processing under 100 boxes a day. API enabled tracking data gets updated every night, and can be updated via the Track button on the History screen as well.
To enable API tracking on your shipments, enable Automatic Tracking Updates, and choose API from the dropdown. Press Save on the top-right of the window when complete.

EDI
EDI on the other hand is widely supported for LTL carriers and recommended for higher volume as well. This process allows the carrier to push tracking data to SS via an S/FTP connection and has been an industry standard for a long time.
To enable EDI tracking on your shipments, enable Automatic Tracking Updates, and choose EDI from the dropdown. Once enabled, you will see some additional fields defining the connection for the EDI feed. Fill out this information and press Save on the top-right of the window when complete.
Web Hook
Web Hook is essentially a combination of API and EDI, where a carrier will push SS tracking info via an API connection. This is a newer method that isn't as widely supported, so please reach out to support if you want to get this enabled.
