Shipstore stores Country of Origin exactly as your host or OMS sends it. If it comes in wrong (for example, every SKU shows one country such as CN), the value came from the host. Fix it in the host, or add a business rule to set Country of Origin.

Problem

Country of Origin on integration or host orders is wrong (for example, all SKUs import with the same wrong country) even though the correct values exist upstream. There is no error; the wrong value just shows on the commodity or customs data.

Cause

Shipstore records the Country of Origin your host or OMS sends, as-is (a pass-through field). If the incoming data has the wrong Country of Origin, Shipstore shows it. Shipstore does not recalculate or change the value unless a business rule is set to do so.

Fix

  1. To confirm where the wrong value comes from, email support@shipstore.com and ask them to check the inbound integration data as Shipstore received it for an affected order. If the Country of Origin is already wrong there, it came from the host, not Shipstore.
  2. Correct the Country of Origin mapping in your host or OMS so it sends the right value per SKU.
  3. If the host cannot be corrected, add a Shipstore business rule to set Country of Origin (by SKU or item condition) so the right value is applied at import.
  4. Reprocess an affected order and confirm the Country of Origin is correct.

What you should see

  • An affected order imports with the correct Country of Origin per SKU.
  • The commodity or customs line shows the right country.
