Summary: A FedEx Freight (LTL) pallet label stops printing, or prints only one when you need two, when the pallet-label business rule is missing or set to the wrong event. Restore the rule and set its event to After Shipment Label Prints.

Problem

A FedEx Freight (LTL, less-than-truckload freight) shipment used to print a pallet label and stopped, or it prints only one pallet label when you need two. Around the same time, the PRO number (the freight tracking number) may be missing from the shipment.

Cause

The pallet label is produced by a business rule. If that rule is missing (for example, it was lost during a system problem) or its event is set to the wrong stage, no pallet label prints, or it prints at the wrong time or count. A missing PRO number is a separate problem: it happens when the shipment request did not reach the carrier.

How to check: Go to your business rules and look for the pallet-label rule on the profile you ship FedEx Freight from. If it is gone, that is why the label stopped.

Fix

  1. Go to your business rules for the profile you use for FedEx Freight.
  2. Confirm the pallet-label rule is still there. If it is missing, recreate it.
  3. Set the rule's Event to After Shipment Label Prints so the pallet label prints after the shipping label.
  4. If you need two pallet labels on every shipment, set the rule to print that many so you do not have to reprint.
  5. Process a test FedEx Freight shipment and check that the pallet label prints at the right count.
  6. If the PRO number is missing, or you need help rebuilding the rule, email support@shipstore.com and include your company name and a recent FedEx Freight order number.

What you should see

A new FedEx Freight shipment prints the pallet label automatically, at the count you set, and the PRO number is on the shipment.
