Problem

A global Pre-Ship rule that prompts for a value (for example, PO Number or Shipper's Initials) still shows the prompt on a profile you tried to exclude with a "profile Is Not" line. Pressing F10 to ship on that profile still triggers the prompt.

Cause

The per-profile exclusion on a global prompt rule is not reliably honored, so the prompt still fires on the excluded profile. Because the rule lives at the global level, it runs for every profile no matter the exclusion line.

Fix

  1. Note the prompt rules you need to limit (for example, the PO Number prompt and the Shipper's Initials prompt).
  2. Recreate each prompt rule at the profile level on every profile that should have it.
  3. Do not create the rule on the profile that must be excluded.
  4. Remove or disable the global prompt rule so it no longer applies to all profiles.
  5. Ship a test order on the excluded profile (press F10) and confirm no prompt appears. Then confirm the prompt still appears on a profile that should keep it.
