LTL commodity loads wrong, or delivery notification keeps applying

Summary: On LTL orders the Commodities Description, freight class, and NMFC can load wrong, and a delivery-notification flag can keep applying. Set commodity defaults on every profile that loads orders, and edit the business rule that sets the notification.

Problem

On LTL shipments the Commodities section loads the wrong Description, freight class, and NMFC (the freight classification code) when an order loads. The right values show only if you click New Item; on load it goes back to the wrong values. Separately, a "notification prior to delivery" flag keeps applying after you asked to stop it.

Cause

LTL commodity values on load come from profile-level defaults. When a profile has no commodity default of its own, the order falls back to the global default (a generic class and NMFC), so profiles without their own defaults load the wrong commodity. The delivery notification is set by a business rule.

How to check: If the commodity is right only after you click New Item, the profile is missing its own commodity default.

Fix

  1. Set the correct Commodities defaults (Description, freight class, NMFC) on every profile that loads LTL orders, not just the main one.
  2. Treat the global default as a fallback only, used when a profile has no commodity default of its own.
  3. Hard refresh your browser (Ctrl + Shift + R) and load an order to check the values.
  4. To stop the delivery notification, go to Admin > Business Rules, open the rule that applies Prior Notification, and edit or remove it. Re-test; a second change may be needed before it stops.
  5. If the wrong commodity still loads even with profile defaults set, your order import may be overriding them. Email support@shipstore.com and include your company name and the profiles affected so we can add a load-time commodity mapping.

What you should see

An LTL order on each profile loads the right Description, class, and NMFC without clicking New Item, and the shipment no longer carries the delivery-notification flag.
