Use more than one carrier account on one storefront

Summary: A profile holds only one prepaid carrier account. To use more than one on a storefront, add a second profile and switch to it with a business rule, or bill specific items to a third-party account.

Before you start

Know which items or clients need the other carrier account. For a second prepaid account you will also need that account's online username and password and a recent invoice.

Steps

A profile holds only one prepaid carrier account, so pick one of these two ways.

Option 1, second profile plus profile-switch rules (for a second prepaid account):

  1. Create a second profile on the storefront with the same settings but the other carrier account. The quickest way is to copy the global account and change the account number.
  2. On the main profile, add a profile-level business rule whose criteria match the client or item, with an action to switch to the second profile.
  3. Add a companion rule to switch back to the starting profile so the workflow stays smooth.

Option 2, third-party billing (simpler, no second prepaid account):

  1. Add a business rule so the specific item always bills third party instead of prepaid.
  2. The item then ships on the other party's carrier account with no second prepaid account on the storefront.

What you should see

A matching order switches to the intended profile and account (Option 1) or bills third party on the correct account (Option 2), while other orders keep the default account.
