Summary: A profile-switch child rule errors when the profile it switches to has no integration. Add the integration on that profile's Profile Features/Basics tab so orders can load into it and the switch runs.
Problem
You set up a child rule under a profile-switching Business Rule. When an order loads, the rule errors, or the order will not load into the profile it is supposed to switch to. This happens with orders that come in through Direct Edge.
Cause
The profile the rule switches to has no integration set on it. Profile switching runs as the order loads. If the target profile has no integration, an order pulled in through Direct Edge cannot load into it, and you see the rule error. The rule itself can be set up correctly.
How to check: open the target profile and look at its Profile Features/Basics tab. If no integration is listed, that is the cause.
Fix
- Open the profile the rule switches to.
- Go to the Profile Features/Basics tab.
- Add the integration used to pull or load that profile's orders. Direct Edge needs this to load orders into the profile.
- Click Save.
- Reprocess a sample order and check that it loads into the correct profile and the switch happens.
What you should see
An order for that profile loads without the error, and profile switching moves it to the profile you intended.
