Residential LTL will not process without a liftgate

Summary: A residential LTL shipment will not process unless a liftgate is added because a business rule is forcing the liftgate accessorial. Edit the rule to exclude the profile or case.

Problem

You cannot process a residential LTL (less-than-truckload freight) shipment unless a liftgate (a powered platform that lowers freight to the ground) is added, even when you do not want one.

Cause

A business rule adds and requires the liftgate accessorial for residential LTL shipments. While that rule applies, the shipment will not process without the liftgate.

How to check: If every residential LTL shipment forces a liftgate, a business rule is adding it.

Fix

  1. Go to Admin > Business Rules.
  2. Find the rule that adds the liftgate accessorial for residential LTL.
  3. Edit the rule to exclude the affected profile (or the specific case) from the liftgate requirement.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Process a residential LTL test shipment and check that it completes without a forced liftgate.
  6. If you cannot find the rule, email support@shipstore.com and include your company name and an example shipment.

What you should see

A residential LTL shipment processes with no forced liftgate, and the rule no longer applies to the excluded profile.
