You ship in Shipstore but the host is not updated: tracking is not written back and the order stays open. The two usual causes are a blank Integration Source or no items packed to the box. Fix those, then repost.

Problem

Shipments finish in Shipstore, but your host is not updated: the tracking number is not written back and the order stays open (sometimes you have to mark it shipped by hand). Running Repost Data to Host looks like it works, but nothing changes in the host.

Cause

Two common causes give the same symptom:

  • Blank Integration Source. A shipment with no Integration Source set has nowhere to post back to. You can see it under the Misc. Information link beneath the rate on the Ship screen.
  • No items packed. The host needs the shipped package to contain items. If the box was completed with no items assigned (for example Fast Pack was clicked without a box or items), nothing posts back even though the shipment looks done.

Note: Repost Data to Host only works when the Merchant App is signed in and Linked, because the Merchant App is the path to the host.

Fix

  1. Open an affected shipment and check the Integration Source under the Misc. Information link beneath the rate.
  2. If it is blank, set it to the correct value for that host. To fix many shipments at once, create a global business rule that detects a blank Integration Source and sets it to the correct value.
  3. Confirm the shipment has items packed to the box (not an empty package). On the Packing screen, create or scan the box so items are assigned before you complete it.
  4. Confirm the Merchant App is signed in and Linked, then click Repost Data to Host on the shipment.
  5. Check your host to confirm the order closed and the tracking number posted.

What you should see

The order closes in the host and shows the tracking number, and new shipments carry an Integration Source and packed items and post back on their own.
