Summary: If "Add Freight to COD" keeps turning back on when orders load, add a global business rule that unchecks it whenever a shipment loads with it checked. If it returns after a Shipstore update, email support to review the background logic.

Problem

Shipments load with "Add Freight to COD" checked when it should be off. Unchecking it by hand does not hold, and it comes back after Shipstore updates.

Cause

Background logic, and sometimes the import file, turns on "Add Freight to COD" when a shipment loads, so a one-time manual uncheck does not stick. You need a rule that runs after the shipment loads to force it off.

Fix

  1. Add a global Business Rule: when a shipment loads with "Add Freight to COD" checked, uncheck it.
  2. Save the rule and reprocess a sample COD shipment to confirm the option is cleared.
  3. If you also need a default COD payment method (for example, Check or Money Order), set it in the profile's COD settings or add it as a rule action.
  4. If the option keeps coming back after updates, email support@shipstore.com and ask us to review the background logic that sets it.

What you should see

A loaded COD shipment shows "Add Freight to COD" unchecked, and it stays unchecked after reprocessing.
