Swap a carrier account on a profile without breaking your setup
Summary: Changing the carrier account at the top of a profile does not change that profile's Services, Rate Shops, or API Symbol mappings. Those are set up separately from the carrier login. For a sitewide change, test one profile first, then roll it out.
Before you start
- Have the new carrier account ready.
- If you use an integration, know which API Symbols it maps to.
Steps
- Change the carrier account at the top of the profile to the new account.
- Leave the Services, Rate Shops, and API Symbol mappings as they are. They are not tied to the carrier login and do not need to be rebuilt.
- For a sitewide change, change one profile first and process a test order. Confirm the label, the rates, and your integration's API symbols still work.
- Roll the change out to the other profiles once the test profile checks out.
What you should see
A test order on the swapped profile rates and ships on the new account, the API Symbol mappings still resolve to the same services, and rate shops return the expected services.
