Switch to a hazmat profile automatically with a child rule

Before you start

You need admin access to Business Rules, and a hazmat profile already set up that should apply when an order has a hazardous item.

Steps

Go to Admin > Business Rules and open Profile Switch.
Open Child Rules for the Profile Switch rule.
Add a new child rule for your hazmat profile.
Set the shipment criteria that identify a hazardous order (for example, a hazmat item attribute or SKU).
Click Save.
Run a test order that meets the criteria and check that the hazmat profile switches in.
If you have more than one hazmat profile, set up the same child-rule pattern for each so they all behave the same way.

What you should see

A test order with the hazardous item switches to the hazmat profile on its own, and the child rule shows under the Profile Switch rule with the criteria you set.

If something goes wrong

The profile does not switch in. The child-rule criteria do not match the order. Open the child rule and check the criteria against the test order.
