Problem
A custom Bill of Lading (BOL) prints values that are wrong or missing. Common versions:
- PO, Order number, and freight terms do not print on manually entered (non-integrated) shipments.
- The PO and ticket number duplicate in the comment section when an order has more than one ticket.
- A shipment processed collect shows RTS as the Bill To instead of collect.
Cause
A custom BOL is built from a report template and a query, so what prints is set by that template and by which order fields the query reads. Manually entered shipments store some values differently from integrated orders, so a query written for integrated data returns them blank on manual shipments. Duplicated PO/ticket numbers come from the template's comment logic. A collect shipment showing RTS happens when the template was reverted to an older version. Each version is fixed in the template or query, not by a shipment setting.
Fix
- Capture the exact symptom and an example: which field is wrong or missing, whether the shipment was manual or integrated, and the freight terms used.
- Email support@shipstore.com and include that example, and ask to have the BOL template or query corrected for your case (source the Order number and PO for manual shipments, stop the comment duplication, or redeploy the current template so collect shows the correct Bill To).
- After support confirms, reprint the affected BOLs.
What you should see
Reprinting a previously affected BOL shows the correct PO, Order number, freight terms, and Bill To, and manual shipments print the same fields as integrated ones.
