A station's scale does not send weight to Shipstore, so you have to type weights by hand. This often shows up right after you set up a new station or swap a scale.
Cause
The scale will not communicate when the settings on the station's Scale tab are wrong: the wrong scale model is picked, a typo in the model number (for example the letter O instead of the digit 0), the wrong port, or the unit set to ounces instead of pounds. After a scale swap, the new model may not match the saved settings.
Fix
- In the Merchant App advanced options, open the station and go to the Scale tab.
- Select the exact scale model, and check the model number for typos (for example O versus 0).
- Confirm the connection port matches the scale.
- Set the unit of measure to pounds, not ounces.
- On the scale itself, confirm the display is set to pounds.
- Save, reload the station, and place a known weight to confirm it reads.
After you replace a scale, run these steps again for the new model.
What you should see
The scale fills in the weight automatically, and a known test weight reads correctly in pounds.
