After the Stamps migration, USPS labels can print at 180 degrees (upside down) while other carriers print upright on the same printer.

Problem

USPS labels come out upside down, so the barcode is in the wrong position and an inline scanner cannot read it. Other carriers print upright. It started after the Stamps migration.

Cause

After the Stamps migration, the USPS label prints at the opposite orientation from other carriers on the same printer. If other carriers print upright, and USPS on a known-good printer prints upright, the problem is the USPS (Stamps) label, not the printer.

Fix

Check the printer first:

  1. Confirm the printer media and orientation settings match the settings you use for other carriers (same label stock, same orientation).
  2. Reprint a non-USPS label to confirm it prints upright on the same printer.

If only USPS is upside down:

  1. Email support@shipstore.com to add USPS label-inversion that rotates USPS labels. Note this rotates all USPS labels for the account.

What you should see

USPS labels print in the same orientation as other carriers, with the barcode leading out of the printer and readable by the scanner.
